Warzone players discover new bug with operator’s parachutes

Some Call of Duty Warzone operators are currently experiencing a bug where you can glide faster than normal with your parachute deployed

A Call of Duty Warzone parachute bug has been discovered by the battle royale’s community, and it’s a bit of a head-scratcher. We’ve seen some rather weird bugs and glitches throughout Warzone’s life, but this is up there as one of those that makes you think: ‘how?’

As spotted by players on Reddit, and tested and verified by YouTuber ‘JGOD’, it appears that the parachute mechanic will behave differently for some operators in the game. First, some operators jumping from the plane at the start of the game or redeploying after being bought back or winning a gulag will be able to glide at a different speed than you should be.

JGOD’s research shows that some operators, such as Roze and Wraith, will have glide speeds of over 10 showing up on the on-screen indicator, when the maximum should be 6.6. While operators from Call of Duty Vanguard are all apparently fine, a selection of characters from Modern Warfare and Black Ops Cold War are experiencing this.

It’s a similar story when it comes to pulling your parachute after jumping from a high place. While you should be able to pull your parachute from pretty much any height after jumping, some of the bugged operators will revert back to ye olde days of Warzone and will fall for a certain amount of time before allowing you to open your ‘chute. We’re already getting flashbacks of all those fall damage deaths…

Raven Software is yet to comment on the bug and it also doesn’t feature on the Warzone Trello board, which tracks and monitors ongoing bugs and bug fixes.

While this certainly isn’t the most game-breaking bug we’ve encountered in the battle royale, it is one of the most perplexing. Luckily, it isn’t one that’s going to impact the Warzone meta, but it might be one that causes you to miss out on your prime hot drop spot.
