New Warzone leaks confirm that Godzilla and King Kong are coming to the Call of Duty battle royale on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox through Operation Monarch

More information about the next Call of Duty Warzone update and event is here – and it’s clear that the battle royale is leaning into its wild side more than ever before. Ahead of an official announcement, leakers have revealed that the Warzone Godzilla event we’re all waiting for is going to be called Operation Monarch. The collaboration between Call of Duty Warzone and Legendary Pictures’ Godzilla vs Kong will see the two giant monsters wreak havoc across Caldera – we just don’t know exactly how, yet.

Recently, Call of Duty has been hinting at bizarre happenings in Caldera ahead of the Warzone Pacific Season 3 release date through what can only be described as found footage teasers. Showing collapsing mine tunnels and monstrous skeletons, it’s been clear from the start that these teasers are building up to the announcement that Godzilla was coming to Warzone – we just didn’t know if Kong would be there too!

However, we do know now that both of these iconic monsters will be coming to Caldera – in some capacity – very soon.

As you can see from the leaked image below, Operation Monarch is going to start on May 11 – bringing both King Kong and Godzilla to Warzone for a limited time.

Unusually, Operation Monarch isn’t going to start as soon as Warzone Pacific Season 3 begins – as we expected. The next Warzone season is going to begin on April 27, two whole weeks before the big event is set to kick off. We don’t know what this means yet, but we could see a few more teasers appear in-game and online in the build up to Operation Monarch.

If the name ‘Operation Monarch’ and the Warzone event’s logo look familiar to you, you’re not going crazy. Monarch Sciences, a fictional company, features heavily in both the Godzilla King of Monsters and Godzilla vs Kong movies. Although it is a stretch, the use of this could hint at other Kaiju coming to Warzone during the event. Ghidorah, for one, is named as Godzilla’s ultimate nemesis in Godzilla King of the Monsters.

However, for now, we’ll just have to wait and see what Raven Software is cooking up. Expect to see more on official social media accounts and in-game in the build up to this event.
