Zombies may be coming to Call of Duty: Warzone in time for Halloween

Zombies may by making their Call of Duty: Warzone debut just in time for the spooky season

The latest Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone patch is nearly here, but to help you get in on the action quicker, you can pre-load it on the PlayStation 4 right now.

The patch, labeled update 1.28, is available to download from the PlayStation Store now, but it won’t actually be playable until October 13 23:00 PT / October 14 07:00 BST. The option isn’t available for Xbox One and PC users, so if that’s you, you’ll have to wait until patch day and hope the WiFi gods are in a good mood.

Reports indicate the patch is coming in at around 10GB – a fraction of the size of the original Season 6 update – so you shouldn’t need to wait too long or uninstall too many games to make room for the patch. While we do know how big the update is, we don’t actually know what’s in it, but there are already murmurings online that it could include some spooky content just in time for Halloween.

Last month dataminers discovered soundbites in Warzone’s game files that indicated the undead wouldn’t be affected by the encroaching gas. While leaks are, well, leaks – it is the perfect time for Infinity Ward to introduce the scary sods back into Call of Duty’s battle royale.

Speculation aside, we won’t have long to wait to find out. The patch is just a couple of hours away now, so get your pre-load ready for the next Call of Duty-inspired apocalypse.
