How to set up split-screen in Call of Duty Vanguard

Here's everything to know about playing Call of Duty Vanguard split-screen and setting it up for multiplayer and Zombies.

Vanguard split-screen: Call of Duty Vanguard How To Set Up Split-Screen: Two operators can be seen shooting at enemies off screen.

Vanguard Zombies split-screen was added post-launch, however, it is very buggy and still does not work for many players. With Vanguard no longer getting any updates, this is very unlikely to improve.

There’s nothing better than sitting down with your friend, booting up a game, and playing it together in the same room. Call of Duty games have long boasted split-screen options, and Sledgehammer Games carried on that tradition with CoD Vanguard split-screen.

However, many were hoping that Sledgehammer would breathe new life into the feature, considering how bugged Black Ops Cold War’s split-screen was. Couch co-op games these days are far and few between and finding one that ticks all the boxes is a difficult proposition. Unfortunately, Vanguard split-screen was far from perfect.

Does Vanguard have split-screen co-op?

Call of Duty Vanguard supports split-screen multiplayer and Zombies. However, split-screen Zombies is still incredibly buggy, and doesn’t work for most players.

Furthermore, split-screen is only available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. You can’t access the feature on PC.

How to set up split-screen in Call of Duty: Vanguard

To set up split-screen in Call of Duty Vanguard you need to get your friend to turn on a second controller and then sign into their account on the PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, or Xbox One. If the second (or third, or even fourth player) doesn’t have a PSN or Xbox Live account – they can log in as a guest.

Once the login is complete, the lobby leader then picks which mode they want to play – either local or online – and hits search.

If you want the additional players to play online they will need their own PSN or Xbox Live account, with PS Plus or Xbox Live Gold. If all players don’t have access to this then you are limited to playing locally.

Split-screen works smoothly for Call of Duty: Vanguard multiplayer, but Zombies is another story. Added post-release, Zombies split-screen is still very buggy and broken today – with no more patches to fix the issue. That means that if you’re looking to play Zombies split-screen specifically, we don’t recommend picking up CoD Vanguard.

So there you have it, all the Call of Duty Vanguard split-screen details for multiplayer and Zombies to get you in the action with your mate.
