Call of Duty Vanguard’s Kill Confirmed mode returns “later this month”

Fans of CoD Vanguard are going to have to wait even longer for Kill Confirmed to return to the World War Two FPS game on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC

Popular game mode Kill Confirmed was removed from Call of Duty Vanguard on February 24 and now, two weeks later, Sledgehammer Games has updated fans on when they should expect to see this game mode make a return. However, it isn’t good news. Kill Confirmed isn’t coming back to Sledgehammer’s latest CoD game until later this month.

“Due to the complexity of the issue”, Sledgehammer Games says in a tweet, “we expect to release this fix along with the mid-season game update later this month.” In Call of Duty Vanguard, Kill Confirmed is a staple for fans of objective-based game modes. It regularly features on playlists alongside Domination, Hardpoint, and Patrol.

Looking to the Call of Duty Vanguard Trello Board for more information, the issue in question is simply labelled as the following: “Kill Confirmed matches will sometimes result in a disconnect.” Sledgehammer hasn’t shared any more information when it comes to what aspect of the game mode is causing the issue, but it has updated its status to “Fix Scheduled”.

Having a fix in the works is all well and good, but one question still remains: when is Kill Confirmed going to return to Call of Duty Vanguard? At the moment, we don’t know for sure – Sledgehammer Games hasn’t confirmed the release date for Call of Duty Vanguard’s next mid-season update.

We can make an educated guess, though. As the name suggests, we’re expecting the Vanguard Season 2 mid-season update to release at the halfway point of the season. With the Vanguard Season 2 Battle Pass due to end on April 27, we should see the mid-season update and a fix for Kill Confirmed released around March 21.

It’s worth taking this with a pinch of salt, though, and keeping an eye on official sources until we know more is recommended.

Kill Confirmed might be missing, but there’s still plenty of fun to be had in the recently-released Call of Duty Vanguard ranked mode. If you’re looking to dive in, check out our guide to the best Vanguard Ranked loadouts here.
