Call of Duty Vanguard is no longer supported with additional content or significant updates, and players have largely moved on to more recent releases. Nevertheless, Vanguard’s multiplayer is still available and you can still earn the Mastery camos.
An integral part of the Call of Duty multiplayer experience is the camo grind – completing challenges to unlock camos for your weapons to show the lobby you mean business. Things were no different in Call of Duty: Vanguard, and there were three stunning Mastery camos to unlock to prove you were the ultimate completionist.
In Vanguard, the most prestigious camos were Gold, Diamond, and the absolute pinnacle for this entry, Atomic. In Black Ops Cold War, it was the mystifying Dark Matter Ultra that was the hardest camo to obtain, but in Vanguard, the more eclectic Atomic was the one that players were grinding towards.
These three camos were the ultimate flex for any CoD player, and they certainly looked the part. But unlocking these camos was no easy task and sometimes required hundreds of hours of playtime. Vanguard Mastery camos
The CoD Vanguard Mastery camos are:
- Gold
- Diamond
- Atomic
From the iconic designs of Gold and Diamond to the vibrant and hypnotic colour scheme of Atomic, these three camos are the most prestigious in Call of Duty: Vanguard.
How to unlock Gold camo in Vanguard
While it may take a fair bit of time, unlocking Gold camo for a gun in Vanguard is a simple procedure. You have to complete every other camo challenge for that individual weapon – there are ten in total – and once you’ve done that you will be awarded the Gold camo for that specific gun.
How to unlock Diamond camo in Vanguard
Unlocking Diamond camo for your Vanguard weapons is again a simple-sounding concept on paper, but one that needs a lot of time and effort. To get Diamond for your gun, you need to have unlocked Gold camo for every gun in a certain weapon class.
For example, if you want to get Diamond camo for your MP40 Vanguard class, then you’ll need to unlock Gold camo for every SMG in the game.
How to unlock Atomic camo in Vanguard
To get the Atomic camo in Vanguard you have to be the ultimate completionist. Atomic will be unlocked as soon as you earn Diamond camo for every weapon class in the game – that’s everything from assault rifles to shotguns, to even melee weapons.
It’s a tall order and one that will take you weeks or months of grinding to pull off, even today.
Vanguard Zombies Mastery camos
It’s worth pointing out that there are Zombies Mastery camos that you can still unlock today as well. The Zombies Mastery camos follow the same structure as multiplayer:
- Golden Viper camo – In Zombies, complete all weapon camo challenges a specific weapon.
- Plague Diamond camo – In Zombies, unlock the Golden Viper Camo for all weapons of that class.
- Dark Aether camo: Unlock the Plague Diamond camo for all weapon classes.
