MW2 Season 2 Reloaded is hiding a fan favourite weapon in plain sight

Modern Warfare 2 Season 2 Reloaded brings about the Tempus Torrent assault rifle, but COD players have spotted a fan favourite weapon overdue to return.

Kleo operator in Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2

The grounds of the Himmelmatt Expo are under fire in Modern Warfare 2 Season 2 Reloaded, and you’ll need considerable firepower to stand your ground. While the latest MW2 update has given us the mighty Tempus Torrent, a wave of COD community members are calling out for a franchise favourite assault rifle to make a grand return. Especially as the gun is hiding in plain sight.

As spotted by Modern Warfare 2 subreddit member ‘generic_dud12’, a new loading screen within the game showcases three operators, one of which is supposedly wielding the FAMAS assault rifle. The Redditor notes how developer Infinity Ward has “casually” included the weapon here, despite it remaining unavailable in the game’s loadout creation system. The operator in question wielding the FAMAS is at the back right of the loading screen.

While some of the best Modern Warfare 2 guns include the likes of the reliable M4 and TAQ-56, the FAMAS remains a popular weapon in the COD pantheon. Notably, a full-auto version of the weapon featured in Call of Duty Black Ops, which dominated alongside guns such as the FN FAL and the AUG. However, some players in the Modern Warfare 2 community are unsure of what variant this weapon appears to be.

“[It’s] both of them. It’s like they’re all weird hybrids of both the FAMAS and the ShAK-12 (Oden),” says MW2 player ‘IdealLogic‘, referring to the middle and right operators seen on the loading screen. The Oden currently features in Call of Duty Mobile, while its last console appearance was in the 2019 Call of Duty Modern Warfare reboot.

The weapon’s reappearance, if only via this artistic showcase, has COD players demanding the return of similar weapons too. “We need more Bullpup guns in the game. I want the TAR and F2000 back,” adds Redditor ‘Salom902‘. If you were around for the 2009 Modern Warfare 2 days, then you’ll be more than aware that the F2000 was a supremely viable choice within the game’s weapon meta. Previous Call of Duty weapons such as the G36c was also rumoured to appear in Modern Warfare 2 ahead of its launch, but the COD4 era assault rifle has yet to emerge.

For now, this Modern Warfare 2 Tempus Torrent loadout is a surefire way to send your enemies back to the lobby early.
