This, and checking out the new Modern Warfare 2 weapon customisation features, is going to help prepare you to make the absolute most out of this new Call of Duty multiplayer experience. If you’re wondering why you should read up on this new Call of Duty game’s levelling system and the new prestiges you’ll be gunning for, all you need to do is look back at the prestige system introduced in Modern Warfare 2019. It wasn’t as simple as it could be – and neither is this.
Modern Warfare 2 prestige system and ranks
Modern Warfare 2 prestige system and ranks, as per this Call of Duty blog post, has a seasonal prestige system similar to what we have seen in other recent games, like Modern Warfare 2019, Black Ops Cold War, and Vanguard.
What does it actually mean? Well, allow us to explain. Once players have reached level 55, they will be able to prestige and effectively start again on a track to reach level 50 from level 1. Then, they will be able to prestige again. Each season, Modern Warfare 2 is going to get an additional four prestige levels – which will be persistent and not reset with each season.
So, if you miss out on hitting that final prestige in Season 1, you don’t need to worry. You will still be able to work through it and any additional prestige levels in the next season. You can find out more about this via a Call of Duty blog post here. But, to clarify, the level cap will rise by 250 levels each season – from what we understand.
Well, that’s everything we know about Modern Warfare 2’s prestige levels and ranks. On top of how it works, there will also be a number of rewards for players to earn. Speaking of rewards, here’s everything you need to know about the Modern Warfare 2 campaign rewards available and how you can unlock the FJX Cinder weapon vault for yourself.
