Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 is on the way and we can’t wait to get our hands on what could be one of the best competitive FPS games of the year. If you’re in the same boat, waiting patiently for the Modern Warfare 2 release date to roll around, you need to check out the latest Modern Warfare 2 launch gameplay trailer from Infinity Ward. Not only do we get a great look at Price, Ghost, and Task Force 141, we also get our first real look at the story we’ll be experiencing in Modern Warfare 2’s campaign mode.

As you can see below, Task Force 141 – led by Laswell – are teaming up with Mexican special forces Colonel Alejandro Vargas. We still don’t know who they’re chasing, but we know that they have a terrorist organisation at their beck and call – and it looks like they’re going to have some powerful weapons at their disposal, too.

With the apparent War on Terror drawing resources from the more important War on Drugs, it looks like Modern Warfare 2 is going to push Captain Price and his team to their limits – once again – to save the day.

As expected, the Modern Warfare 2 campaign looks like it’s going to take us on a global adventure – crowded city streets, grassy fields, and skyscrapers all feature in this action-packed trailer. If you want to watch it for yourself, all you need to do is check out the video below:

Interestingly, at the 00:43 mark in the video, we see an American character that bares a striking resemblance to Chad Michael Collins – Alex’s VA from Modern Warfare 2019. While this doesn’t exactly look like the aforementioned CIA operative, we do know that he survives the Modern Warfare 2019 campaign and his appearance in the sequel would be an interesting continuation of his story. It looks like Urzikstanian powerhouse Farah Karim is going to be heavily involved, so why not Alex?

It’s worth noting though that his appearance in Modern Warfare 2 has not been confirmed, so take this with a pinch of salt. For all we know, this is a completely different character.

With rumours that Modern Warfare 2 leaks suggest classic CoD maps are returning as paid DLC and a Modern Warfare 2 mission list leak having fans fearing for Ghost, there’s a lot to look forward to when this shooter drops. We just hope it lives up to the hype.
