Best Modern Warfare 2 Loadout of the Week – wreak havoc with this RPK

If you want to dominate this competitive FPS, you're going to need to check out The Loadout's Best Modern Warfare 2 Loadout of the Week before the next game

Modern Warfare 2 best loadout of the week RPK P890: an image of a player using an M4 from the FPS game

Would you look at the time, it’s time for another iteration of our Best Loadout of the Week series. Last week, we discussed the best options for players looking to double up on ARs in Warzone 2 – which we still think is an underrated tactic. This week, though, we’re taking a look at the best Modern Warfare 2 Loadout of the Week – a class build that focuses on the core Call of Duty multiplayer experience over the battle royale on offer. So, with that in mind, let’s get stuck into a class that takes advantage of the best Modern Warfare 2 RPK loadout available.

When it comes to picking the best Modern Warfare 2 LMGs for your loadout, the RPK has to be in the conversation. This Kastovia platform light machine gun is one of the hardest hitting fully-automatic weapons available; not only this, but it’s naturally high ammo capacity isn’t anything to laugh about when you’re in the thick of a firefight in Team Deathmatch or Domination.

Basically, it’s the perfect primary weapon for this week’s Best Modern Warfare 2 Loadout and we have Call of Duty content creator ‘RaidAway‘ to thank for the build we’re sharing with you today.

As you’ll be able to see for yourself at the end of the video below, RaidAway is rocking the following RPK weapon build:

  • Muzzle: Polarfire-S
  • Barrel: TAC 597 Barrel
  • Optic: Cronen
  • Stock: Prolite TL3 Stock
  • Rear Grip: True-TAC Grip

This build is all about taking advantage of the weapon’s natural strengths, something which the barrel attachment does well. The TAC 597 Barrel is going to boost your weapon’s damage range, movement speed, and the bullet velocity of the RPK. The Polarfire-S muzzle attachment is once-again going to slow down ADS speeds, but it will also benefit the weapon’s recoil smoothness – which is an important part of taking advantage of the increased damage range on offer.

In an effort to counter-balance the above attachments, RaidAway has opted to use the True-TAC Grip; this improves Sprint to Fire speed and ADS speed. The stock attachment chosen also improves the mobility of this weapon – so, it should feel a little more like an assault rifle than you might think it would.

You can also find all the attachment tuning information in the video below.

Looking at what you should equip in the rest of your loadout, we think RaidAway’s choice of akimbo X13 Auto pistols is near-perfect. The only change we would make is using akimbo P890 pistols instead. If you want to use these, here’s the build you should be looking at:

  • Trigger Action: Bruen Express
  • Barrel: Matuzek Cottonmouth Barrel
  • Magazine: 12 Round Mag
  • Laser: 1mw Pistol Laser
  • Rear Grip: Akimbo P890

RaidAway is also using Stims and Proximity Mines in the equipment slots. While we agree that Stims are a good idea when using this slower weapon, Stun Grenades are also a good option when it comes to tactical throwables. Similarly, Semtex shouldn’t be overlooked if you’re looking for more precision explosive accuracy.

If you’re not a fan of the RPK, you should check out some of the other best Modern Warfare 2 guns right here. It’s also worth reading up on the Modern Warfare 2 Season 2 release date rumours; the update that comes with this could very-well come with a weapon balancing update.
