If you’re yet to lose yourself in Baldur’s Gate 3, then you need to know one thing: it is a pretty horny game. As players continue to see just how steamy the game is, sharing hilarious clips of these encounters is bound to happen, but doing so on Xbox is resulting in some players getting banned by Microsoft itself. Now, Larian Studios’ director of publishing Michael Douse is setting the record straight on this obstacle.
Speaking on social media, Douse says that “we’ve seen the reports that some players got banned or otherwise faced issues on Xbox having uploaded screenshots/videos of their ‘gameplay content’.” With Larian Studios aware of this unique situation, Douse expresses that conversations are underway to resolve this issue: “We’re in discussion with Microsoft, and we’re looking into it. Annoying and uncool.” Microsoft is yet to comment on the matter, but the circumstances are quite peculiar.
The hit Xbox and PS5 RPG is full of vibrant characters to become acquainted with, and most of them are looking for love. After all, The Forgotten Realms can get lonely out there.
Realistically, plenty of new Xbox games are full of mature content, both thematically and visually. Legions of players are easily able to share content from games like Grand Theft Auto 5 or Modern Warfare 3, where demolishing other players with deadly weaponry is often depicted. Yet, this is almost considered the norm to a degree.
Obviously, the subject of these Baldur’s Gate 3 clips in question is far more adult in nature. However, singling out one of the biggest RPG game experiences in recent memory is fairly bizarre.
The initial issue stems from growing reports of Baldur’s Gate 3 players claiming that Microsoft is slamming down the ban hammer on their accounts, after attempting to upload specific clips of the game to social media. However, as these clips need to adhere to strict guidelines, they are instantly flagged as inappropriate. Furthermore, doing so is applying strikes to Xbox accounts, before leading to complete suspensions.
In actuality, these clips don’t really depict any sexual acts between Baldur’s Gate 3 party members. Aside from flirtatious dialogue and nudity, that is about as far as Larian Studios goes. It doesn’t go as far as other RPG games like Cyberpunk 2077 or even Teyon’s Terminator Resistance, which aren’t exactly afraid of pulling back the sheets, so to speak.
