The Surrender Enigma is one of the more challenging Assassin’s Creed Mirage Enigmas as the note you’re given as a clue holds a red herring or two that will leave you stumped. It certainly left us stumped as we wandered the desert to find the answer. However, we’ve cracked the code to the Assassin’s Creed Mirage Surrender Enigma and can save you from the hassle. Thankfully, it’s a lot more simple than it seems at first.
How to solve the Assassin’s Creed Mirage Surrender Enigma
The Assassin’s Creed Mirage Surrender Enigma is located at the northmost point of the map in the village of Ukbara in the Wilderness region, found in the rubble of a house falling into the water. Solving this Enigma will give you the Rebel’s Talisman as a reward.

Ukbara is a very small village to the far north of the map, so it’s likely you’ll never even step foot here unless you’re heading off the beaten path. This isn’t helped by the fact that the village is slowly but surely being eaten up by the sea, so there’s not much to be found here. However, this is where you’ll find the Surrender Enigma.
Once you head to Ukbara, travel to the northmost point of the village where you’ll see a small house with a domed roof half submerged into the water. In the rubble of the building, next to a collection of vases and a low brick wall, you’ll find the Surrender Enigma treasure location. As with all the Enigmas, the beam of light is very easy to miss, especially during the day or if you’re moving fast. Interact with the treasure site to dig up the reward and solve the Surrender Enigma puzzle once and for all.
If you’re wondering how we solved the AC Mirage Surrender Enigma ourselves, we dissected the note to Asif and picked out several key clues. Firstly, the note reveals the location is north of an oasis in the desert. Next, it’s revealed to be in a village, at a house with a domed roof. Last but arguably most importantly, it confirmed that the village in question was slowly sinking into the sea. Evidently, the location wasn’t going to be in the Round City or its suburbs, leaving only the Wilderness region.
Looking at the world map, there is a large oasis to the north of the Round City, next to a Synchronization Point. From here, we looked northwards on the map, as the clue pointed out, to find a village that looked like it was sinking into the water. When we traveled here, we soon saw the dome-roofed house collapsing into the water.
As a general rule when looking for Enigmas that we’ve learned through our Assassin’s Creed Mirage review playthrough, be sure to use the Synchronization Points to reveal the more detailed map. After doing so, you can then scour the map while fully zoomed-in to search areas directly from the map screen.
We didn’t reach this conclusion immediately though, as the Surrender Enigma clue had a few misleading details that extended our search. For example, it’s easy to focus too much on the phrase “the village of my birth”. Since we don’t know the character sending the note, we don’t actually know where they were born, so it’s a dead-end clue. Likewise, you could confuse the waves to be referring to the massive sand dunes around the Wilderness regions, especially as there are also villages and buildings submerged in sand. If this is your thinking, then congratulations, you’ve overthought the puzzle.
But what do you get for solving the Surrender Enigma? Well, you’ll receive the Rebel’s Talisman, a small cosmetic that will hang from your left shoulder when equipped. It’s not quite as flashy or desirable as a new outfit, but the Talismans are all unique cosmetics that add detail to your overall appearance.
The Rebel’s Talisman in particular is a red-and-white talisman signifying an allegiance to Ali ibn Muhammad, the main rebel leader you’ll meet during the story. As such, if you’re looking to roleplay with a more immersive Talisman item, then this is the right one for you as you fight to uproot the corruption in the Caliphate.
