Apex Legends’ Season 13 character confirmed in latest cinematic

Apex Legends Season 13 Character Reveal: Two images of Newcastle, the new Apex Legends character

Apex Legends fans have a lot to look forward to in Season 13 and beyond. Why, you might ask? Well, Respawn Entertainment has just confirmed who the next legend joining the Apex Games is – and it’s who we all thought it would be. Newcastle, someone who featured heavily in the latest round of Apex Legends character leaks, is going to be Apex Legends’ Season 13 legend.

Yes, Newcastle – who’s whole kit was leaked several weeks ago in one of the largest Apex Legends leaks we’ve seen so far – is indeed the next character to jump into the fight on Storm Point and beyond.

On April 25, Respawn Entertainment released the Saviors Launch Trailer – the official name of Season 13 – and offered fans an exciting first look at Newcastle in action. It was also revealed that, as expected, Newcastle is indeed Bangalore’s long lost brother: Jackson Williams.

Described as the “Hero of Harris Valley” on Apex Legends’ Saviors page, it’s clear from the footage below that Newcastle is a legend with fantastic defensive capabilities. We see him use a deplorable energy barrier, a personal shield somewhat similar to Gibraltar’s Gun Shield, and a larger barrier that looks as though it can withstand massive amounts of damage.

Newcastle isn’t the only thing revealed in this cinematic, though. We also got a great look at some of the upcoming Storm Point map changes thanks to Bangalore triggering some sort of security breach and the arrival of a great sea monster. The Apex Legends’ site reveals that “The Downed Beast” is going to play an important part in next season’s content – we just don’t know how, yet.

However, if you want to know more about Newcastle’s journey from when we last saw him to now, a new Stories from the Outlands short is dropping on April 28 – so, keep an eye out for that.
