It’s safe to say that it has been one hell of a year for Respawn Entertainment’s battle royale shooter Apex Legends. Four more characters have been introduced to shake up the Apex Legends tier list, LTMs have come and gone, and we’ve been trying to climb to the top of the Apex Legends ranks for a whole 12 months. With Apex Legends only going from strength to strength, we can’t wait to see what 2023 has in store for us. If you want to head into 2023 with something a little flashy, you’re in luck; the Apex Legends End of Year Sale is starting – and it stretches well into the New Year.

From December 27 until January 10, Apex Legends’ End of Year Sale is going to offer players limited-time discounts on in-game bundles, legendary skins, Apex Packs, and more.

Specifically, we’re expecting things to kick off around 10:00 PST / 13:00 EST / 18:00 GMT on December 27 – as this is the usual update time for Apex Legends – and end at a similar time in January 2023.

In its’ announcement, which you can see on the Apex Legends website here, Respawn Entertainment also confirmed that new legendary recolours will be available exclusively during this End of Year Sale. These include a pink variation on Wattson’s “Thunder Kitty” skin called “Kawaii Kitty” and a new Loba recolour called “Hell Bent”.

Wraith mains will also be pleased to know that her legendary – and fairly uncommon – cosmetic “Rift Stalker” will also be returning to Apex Legends’ store for the End of Year Sale.

As for everything else, though, we can’t say for sure. There’s nothing to say the probabilities will increase when purchasing Apex Packs, but the mention of “bundles” by Respawn Entertainment would suggest that there will be a way to pick up quite a few of these on the cheap – or, cheaper than usual. So, if you’re looking for options across the roster, this could still be a good time to spend some cash on Apex Coins.

However, just be warned, the probability of legendary items in standard Apex Packs is only 7.4% – and the probabilty of Heirloom Shards is even lower than that. This might be one of the best competitive FPS games out there and the best battle royale games available, but it still suffers from a predatory monetisation system that doesn’t always offer players the best value for money.

We don’t know if this End of Year Sale is going to be any different, but we have to hope that the discounts will be worth the time. The best way to find out more is to log in later today and see what’s on offer.
