Network N is hiring! Wargamer is looking for an editor and staff writer

Love playing and writing about war games? Then we might have a job for you! Network N, the wonderful publishing overlords of The Loadout, PCGamesN, and Pocket Tactics, has announced it’s planning to relaunch Wargamer. As part of that exciting process, Network N is looking for two gifted people to help steer the ship.

Like the rest of our successful relaunches, Network N is looking for an editor and a staff writer to join the team. The editor will be overseeing the relaunch initially and will have a hand in the strategic decisions of the site going forward. As part of the relaunch, Wargamer will be tackling the world of tabletop, miniatures, board games, and collectibles, so you’ll need to be well versed in those as well as the likes of Hearts of Iron.

The editor’s responsibilities include content creation, sub-editing, and commissioning, as well as managing an in-house editorial team, while growing the 25-year-old site to new heights. Of course, since this is a senior position, applicants are expected to have experience in a senior role on a gaming or entertainment website and a natural passion for all things war gaming related. If that sounds like you, then check out the brief below and get in touch.

  • Managing an in-house editorial team plus a pool of freelancers

  • Identifying and implementing growth strategies for the website

  • Ensuring all output meets Network N’s high editorial standards, and is delivered on-time and on-budget

  • Attendance at events, trade shows, etc. (when those are things again)

Required skills and experience:

  • Previous experience in a senior role on a gaming or entertainment website

  • Experience managing staff members

  • Exceptional knowledge of and a passion for the site’s expanded remit

  • Ability to identify and capitalise on emerging trends

If that all sounds a bit too senior for you, then Network N is also hiring a staff writer to write lots of lovely content about all things war gaming. The staff writer will be expected to keep up with all the latest news in the war gaming world, while writing and planning content around video, tabletop, and board games.

They’ll be expected to work with the editor (obviously) and must be able to produce clean copy and work to tight deadlines.
