Bah gawd almighty, if John Cena in the ring wasn’t bad enough, he’s out and about on the links in PGA Tour 2K23. Of course, this isn’t actually a bad thing at all – so long as he doesn’t start trying to Five Knuckle Shuffle any of the competition. Either way, if you’re a WWE 2K23 fan – or a fan of DC Comics’ Peacemaker – you’re going to want to keep reading.
The Prototype himself John Cena is coming to PGA Tour 2K23 on April 7 – so, that’s how you know it isn’t an April Fools’ Day joke. As you can see below, it looks like he’s going to be sporting a professional fit that matches his Peacekeeper colour scheme; so, that means he’s wearing a chrome cap, a red polo, and some white trousers.
This isn’t the only bit of new content coming, though. Playable pro Nelly Korda, the Spyglass Hill Golf Course, the Pinehurst No. 2 and Eastside Golf gear, and Barstool Sports Fore Play Podcast golfers are all coming soon. Oh, and there’s even more planned for this golf game – so, don’t worry if none of that tickles your fancy.
But, if you are interested in seeing what John Cena has to offer on the putting green, you’ll be pleased to know that he’s going to be a pretty decent golfer. PGA Tour 2K23 is giving him 100 Power, 87 Putt Weight, 90 Lie Range, and 95 Transition alongside 53 Timing, 55 Swing Path, 56 Putt Path, and 65 Shaping.
John Cena is going to hit hard, but you might need some finesse for some of the trickier shots you might come across.
The release of John Cena in the golf game actually coincides with a free play weekend, so it’s never been a better time to get yourself onto the course for a few holes. From 09:00 PST / 12:00 EST / 17:00 GMT on April 6 until 11:00 PST / 14:00 EST / 19:00 GMT on April 10, Xbox players will be able to jump in and play for free. Sadly, it doesn’t look like PS5 players are getting a free weekend just yet.
So, while we know we want WWE 2K23 to give John Cena some action figure pals, perhaps the community should also give him a golfer fit using CAW – and introduce a few other sportsmen and sportswomen to the game. We saw soccer players like Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi last year, so we can imagine it’s only a matter of time before similar celebrities make their debut in the ring.
