Forget overpriced meals and chocolate-covered strawberries this Valentine’s Day, everyone knows the most romantic way to spend an evening with your lover in 2023 is in the virtual world. No, we’re not talking about getting an AI-produced portrait of your other half, we’re talking about some good old-fashioned gaming fun with the best co-op games.
Sadly, in today’s world, romantic games aren’t the top priority for most developers, so gamers have taken matters into their own hands to make some of their favourite titles a little more lovey-dovey. On CurseForge, gamers have the power to get creative with their games libraries, uploading mods, add-ons, and more for fun and profit. All of the mods listed below are available for Minecraft via CurseForge, so get exploring and install some sickly sweet mods today.
Rather than fundamentally changing the experience of playing, these mods add some seasonal aesthetic flair to the game. If not helping you win the heart of your beloved, they should at least make it a little more acceptable that you’re spending Valentine’s day playing a video game. Valentine’s Mod by Brade1210
Simple and straightforward, this mod does what it says on the tin and gives everyone’s favourite pixelated crafter a romantic makeover. This mod adds two new ores – the Valentine Ore and Rainbow Ore to craft fabulous gear and gadgets. Craft the Staff of Love to heal yourself and your special companion, or construct the Heartbreaker and crush your enemies with the power of love.
It’s not all hugs and kisses though, as there are plenty of heartsick enemies to fend off in this mod too. Take on Cupid and dodge his arrows to earn the epic heart gun, and slay hordes of love-drunk zombies. If things get hairy, use the power of love to heal your special ally by crafting healing hearts and using the new ‘kiss’ action. There’s plenty more to discover in this creative mod, so jump in and find out all it has to offer.
Valentine’s Day Mod by fapdos123
The sweetly named fapdos123 has provided an alternative Valentine’s mod for Minecraft, adding lots of lovely ores and materials for players to collect and play with. Players can mine Love Ore in caves of the overworld in any layer below 60, while Eternal Love Ore can be found in caves of the overworld between layers 27 and 3. When you decrease layers, the spawn rates for these materials will be higher, so see how low you can go!
Build a loving atmosphere with Love Blocks, which can be crafted with nine Love Stones, or set your love in stone with Eternal Love Blocks, which can be crafted with nine Eternal Love Stones. If there’s trouble in paradise (or if you’re just the perfectly reasonable sort that detests Hallmark holidays) you can build your house out of Unlove Blocks by crafting nine Unlove Stones. Perhaps some red flags would look nice with that?
Valentine’s Day by pumpkinbear111
As one would expect from a user named pumpkinbear111, this mod is extremely adorable, allowing players to give their in-game domiciles a cutesy flair. With this mod installed, players can decorate their Minecraft love nests with heart-shaped balloons, flower bouquets, vases and more.
There’s also an assortment of lovely confectionery that looks good enough to eat – chocolates and lollipops to indulge those with a sweet tooth. You can also craft a smiley Valentine’s card for your other half, which serves the practical purpose of restoring six hunger bars! Disclaimer: do not consume greetings cards in real life.
