In the past, the only way to share the experience of any Lego game with someone else was through local co-op – but, when the first Lego Star Wars game was released in 2005 , online multiplayer wasn’t the norm for console games. TT Games has confirmed that Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga will have local split-screen multiplayer co-op without online multiplayer functionality.
This has come as a shock to a lot of people looking to play the latest Lego Star Wars experience with friends online, but it’s not that surprising when you consider the fact that these features have been absent from the developer’s previous games – such as Lego DC Super-Villains and Lego Jurassic World.
LEGO Star Wars The Skywalker Saga online features
As mentioned above, TT Games has confirmed that Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga will not have any online multiplayer features.
In the build up to launch, TT Games have taken to social media to repeatedly respond to fans asking about online multiplayer co-op features with variations on the following response:

It does not seem likely that this feature will be introduced at a later date, either, looking at TT Games’ library of previous releases – however, you never know.
You will still need an online connection for Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, if you want to make the most out of the game – namely because the Lego Star Wars The Skywalker Saga DLC character packs will need an internet connection to download.
