If there was one League of Legends professional who was destined to hit 1,000 career games, it’s Lee ‘Faker’ Sang-hyeok. The T1 midlaner is the second in League history to hit such a milestone only by a matter of days, but unlike Kim ‘Deft’ Hyuk-kyu, DRX’s ADC, Faker wanted to celebrate his in style – by giving away 400 boxes of BBQ chicken.
Those who attended today’s LCK match between T1 and KT Rolster – both fans and press – were given a bucket of Korean chicken when they arrived, which had apparently been prepared by T1 and the man himself. The only request? That those taking a box would pray for a victory.
And well, it looks like the tactic paid off. Using two of his signature picks – LeBlanc and Ahri – Faker and his team dominated KT from the outset, resulting in a swift 2-0 victory. This now means T1 ends the first half of the LCK round robin undefeated and on a nine-game win streak.
Still, despite the pressure of playing his 1,000th match, Faker remains pretty unphased. In a post-match interview with InvenGlobal, Faker says the milestone “surprises” him but it’s just a reminder that he’s been playing as a pro for “that long.”

While he believes T1 still has a lot to work on for the rest of the LCK Spring Split, it’s clear that Faker isn’t slowing down any time soon. It appears the 25-year-old is still intent on making his mark in the LCK and the world stage – even if he does that with the help of some fried chicken.
