The incredible Horizon Forbidden West is one year old, if you can believe it, and Guerrilla Games is celebrating by sharing some truly remarkable community stats online. Alongside the revelation that the iconic Charger is the game’s most popular mount, and that players have collected more Crunchy Spikestalk plants than anything else, Guerrilla Games has revealed that Horizon Forbidden West players have spent well over 2,330 years exploring underwater in-game.

Yes, you’re reading that right; according to this PlayStation Blog post celebrating the first anniversary of Horizon Forbidden West, an infograph has revealed that players have spent 20,421,797 hours underwater in-game. This equates to approximately 2,331 years and around seven weeks.

Now, we know what you’re thinking – that’s a long, long time – and you’re right. That is a very long time to spend underwater. But, Horizon Forbidden West does have quite a few underwater sequences; not to mention that these are some of the game’s most aesthetically pleasing environments. So, when you consider that Horizon Forbidden West players have also spent over 200,000 hours in the game’s photo mode, it could very well be due to the time spent finding the perfect shot underwater.

However, we’re sure there’s more to it than that. The PlayStation Blog also reveals that this open world game’s players have flown to the same distance as travelling to the Moon and back roughly 125 times in-game, spending 4,235,620 hours on the backs of winged machines, which equates to just under 484 years.

Interestingly, though, we can actually learn quite a bit more from the statistics shared; it’s not all novelty comparisons. For example, if you’re still wondering what the best Horizon Forbidden West weapons are, you may want to listen to the mob – of lovely players – on this one.

The Shock Tripcaster is the top upgraded weapon in Horizon Forbidden West, followed by the Prototype Spike Thrower, the Cleaving Sharpshot Bow, the Fire Hunter Bow, and the Frost Hunter Bow. You might not be surprised to find out that the Hunter Bow is the most-fired weapon type, but Tripcasters don’t even break into the top five.
