Gears of War news has been a little wild these past few months, ever since the Gears of War 6 title leaked amongst the Nvidia GeForce Now database leak. It appears that the Gears news isn’t over though, as a journalist has recently spilled some information about a possible Gears of War remastered collection being in the works – similar to the Halo Master Chief Collection.
Nick Baker, a journalist over at Xbox Era, claims in a podcast that Microsoft is working on a Halo Master Chief Collection-style remaster for one of its other franchises – Gears of War. He goes on to talk about how everyone had guessed the Gears collection and “if you go from November 2021 to November 2022 and you look at Microsoft’s big game output, it could wind up being Halo, Gears, Forza,” indicating once more he believes we’re getting some form of Gears of War before the end of the year.
The Master Chief Collection did very well for Microsoft, regardless of the matchmaking issues that were prevalent, and the game was praised for the sheer volume of content and beautifully upgraded visuals. Gears getting this treatment could breathe new life into the franchise, as well as introduce a new generation of gamers to the classic games of the series.
Alongside this, there is a lot of speculation that Gears of War 6 will be coming in the near future, as the title was amongst the Nvidia GeForce Now database leak – which in many cases has been proven accurate.
It is unknown at this time what Gears of War games would be featured in the collection, if it would just be mainline games or if all the spin-offs would also be included. Hopefully, sometime soon we hear more on this rumoured collection and what games we will see remastered for the current-gen.
That’s all the information we have on the Gears of War receiving a Master Chief Collection style remaster. Why not check out the best competitive FPS games in 2022 and brush up on your multiplayer skills while you wait.
