Well, the Fortnite FNCS Invitational 2022 competition is finally upon us. For Fortnite fans, there’s a lot to look forward to from this tournament in North Carolina – the prize pool is a whopping $1,000,000 and this event is somewhat marking the return of in-person competitions in the Fortnite esports scene. If you’re not that interested in the Fortnite esports scene, though, but you still enjoy playing one of the best battle royale games out there right now, you’ll be pleased to know that there might be a way you can get the new Fortnite FNCS umbrella for free.

According to reliable Fortnite leaker ‘ShiinaBR‘, an image of a chrome umbrella has been added to the Fortnite Competitive news feed – suggesting that it may be a free reward for players watching the upcoming FNCS Invitational online.

Interestingly, another leaker ‘HYPEX‘ has taken a more conservative stance when it comes to the announcement, suggesting that it may not actually be an available cosmetic – but, rather, just another promotional image.

However, a third Fortnite leaker, ‘iFireMonkey‘ has taken to Twitter to share the same image with evidence that would suggest this umbrella is indeed a free cosmetic players can earn in-game. They suggest that the image, which you can see for yourself below, was shared with the following text:

“Watch some of the world’s best duos compete for the FNCS Invitational Trophy in Legends Landing at 2:00 PM ET on November 12 and 13 to earn free rewards.”

So, while top pro players discuss how Epic Games can fix Fortnite esports, you may be able to get your hands on some free cosmetics watching said esports in-game. Not bad, eh?

Well, we know Wolfiez is on a mission to spice up the “stale” Fortnite esports scene and we just hope this in-person Fortnite FNCS Invitational helps. Fortnite is one free shooting game with a lot of potential and we’re certain Epic Games will work on re-capturing the magic of it’s competitive competitions.
