They are famous characters from previous entries in the series that now fight side-by-side with a new generation of warriors. Fire Emblem Engage characters
There are a total of 53 Fire Emblem Engage characters for you to fight with and alongside as you meet them in the story and recruit them with Emblem Rings. The full list is as follows:
Alcryst is an archer from the new cast of Fire Emblem Engage. Even though he is the brother of Diamant, prince of the Kingdom of Brodia, and also a prince, he is quite insecure about his own abilities. Because of that, he has the habit of downplaying his own strengths.
After awakening from a one-thousand-year slumber, Alear is ready to become the protagonist of Fire Emblem Engage. They are the children of Lumera, and a Divine Dragon just like their mother. During the game, they have the mission to look for the twelve rings as a means to bring peace to the world of Elyos.
One of the new characters introduced in Fire Emblem Engage and prince of the Kingdom of Firene, Alfred rides a horse and fights using a spear while also carrying other weapons such as an axe. He is one of the characters familiar with Alear and has been waiting to see their awakening for a long time.
This lance-wielding knight is one of the new characters part of the Kingdom of Brodia. As far as we know, he is shown riding a horse which implies that he is going to be a unit with a lot of mobility.
Anna is a character well-known by the Fire Emblem community having appeared in many other games. She is in Fire Emblem Engage not as the spirit of a hero like others, but as a unit you can have in your team. With her heavy axe, this energetic girl might be in the front line during your time with the game.
One of Alfred’s retainers, Boucheron is one of the units players can recruit from the Kingdom of Firene. This tall figure is ready to slay enemies with his axe handling a lot of damage, making him a great option for your team frontline.
Coming from the Kingdom of Solm, Bunet is a strong knight who fights by riding a horse. Because of that, he can reach farther locations and break enemies’ defences with his attacks. Besides being a great fighter, he is also a chef, serving exclusively Fogado, the prince of Solm.
Byleth – The Emblem of the Academy
After being introduced to the series as the protagonist in Fire Emblem Three Houses, Byleth is now the Emblem of the Academy. Still having a support role, Byleth’s main characteristic is the ability to help units hit enemies easily. Byleth has the Engage Attack “Goddess’ Dance” which increases the units’ stats and allows them to act again.
Celica – The Emblem of Echoes
An old figure in the Fire Emblem series, Celica is a magical user that most players may know from Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia. Celica comes with strong skills such as Warp Ragnarok which allows her to teleport herself to a location farther than her regular movement limit.
Céline is another important figure in the Kingdom of Firene. She is Alfred’s sister and fights in order to keep the world in peace. She is capable of attacking with melee weapons such as swords as well as with powerful magic, making her a quite versatile unit.
The gracious and powerful knight from the Kingdom of Firene is a lancer whom players can recruit to their teams. She appears riding a flying mount which gives her a lot of mobility and the option to get out of danger easily.

Available only through buying the Fire Emblem Engage’s Expansion Pass, Claude is a character many may know from Fire Emblem Three Houses or Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes. He is noble and the leader of the Golden Deer house. As a warrior, Claude is a skilful archer!
Corrin – The Emblem of Fates
The protagonist of Fire Emblem Fates comes to the Engage as the Emblem of Fates carrying the powerful blood of the First Dragons. They not only can apply effects to the terrain as well as prevent enemies from moving for one turn but can use their Engage Attack “Torrential Roar”, a powerful frontal attack.
Cramme is a young mage who is part of the Steward of the Dragon, a group of warriors whose mission is to protect the Divine Dragon. Because of that, he uses his magic to defend the main character alongside his sister, Framme.
The imposing red-headed knight Diamant is the Crown Prince of Brodia. He is a gracious noble, polite, and considerate towards the people as much as a kind man to his brother, prince Alcryst. He is a serious man and a mighty warrior who faces enemies with a sword.
The prince of the Holy Kingdom of Faerghus was one of the three characters announced to be part of Fire Emblem Engage’s Expansion Pass. Coming from Fire Emblem Three Houses and Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes, he is known for his prowess with lances as his main weapon.
Edelgard is the leader of the Black Eagles house in Fire Emblem Three Houses and is only available to players who have got Fire Emblem Engage’s Expansion Pass. She is a courageous leader who fights enemies on the battlefield wielding a big axe.
Eirika – The Emblem of the Sacred
The princess of Renais who originally appeared in Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones comes to Fire Emblem Engage as a spirit invoked through one of the magical rings. Besides being a powerful sword-wielding warrior, Eirika can also heal the unit that is engaged with her.
From the Kingdom of Firene, Erie is an archer whom you can recruit to your team. Through her dialogues, we can see that her personality contrasts with the fact that she comes from a noble family. Instead of being concerned about titles or any topics related to the noble society, she seems pretty interested in improving her strength and becoming a stronger warrior.
The energetic and charismatic Fogado is the prince of the Kingdom of Solm. Outside of the battlefield, he is usually seen with his two retainers. But during battles, he rides a horse and fights with a bow, making him a deadly unit since he can keep a considerable distance from enemies while hitting them with powerful blows.
The fierce Framme is a monk who has the mission, together with her twin brother Clanne, to protect the Divine Dragon. Part of the Steward of the Dragon organization, she is one of the first people to see Alear awakening from their slumber.
Griss is one of the four antagonists in Fire Emblem Engage. He is a powerful magic user that has a tendency toward violence, making him a dangerous foe. Alongside the other members of the Four Hounds, he plans to revive the Fell Dragon.
From the Kingdom of Elusia, Goldmary is a lance unit that players may want to recruit to their ranks. Her capacity to hit enemies who are far from her or in higher places gives Goldmary a good advantage. She is also Hortensia’s retainer, so they are usually together.
By being a magic user who can ride a pegasus, Hortensia is a great addition to any team. She is a princess and a playable unit from the Kingdom of Elusia. Hortensia’s playful and energetic personality contrasts directly with her half-sister Ivy.
Ike – The Emblem of Radiance
Introduced to the series in Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance for the GameCube system, Ike is one of the spirits players can summon in Fire Emblem Engage. Ike follows his principles as a mercenary and fights until the end to complete the mission given to him.
The first princess of the Kingdom of Elusia has a mysterious and sinister aura. She is shown riding a wyvern as well as using magic. Ivy seems to be serious and fearless on the battlefield, which makes her a deadly opponent.
One of Diamant’s retainers, Jade is a royal knight who wears heavy armor and wields a large shield as well as an axe. She can fit perfectly in the frontline of your team since she seems to have a high defense. Jade is not known as a very talkative person and she can control her emotions quite well.
Following the mysterious Ivy as her retainer, Kagetsu is a very singular sword-wielding unit since her fighting style is similar to how other games portray the samurai class. With fast attacks – so fast that players can’t even see her sword leaving its sheath –, she faces enemies on the battlefield. Kagetsu is seen interacting with Ivy in a very free and energetic manner.
Lapis is one of the characters players will find in the Kingdom of Brodia. She is a strong fighter, but also quite humble about her own abilities. Because she is not part of the nobility of Brodia, she considers herself only lucky to have become a knight, although she has conquered her place and now serves as Alcryst’s retainer.
Leif – The Emblem of Genealogy
Leif is a character from one of the Fire Emblem titles made for the Super Famicom, having appeared in other titles of the series such as the mobile game Fire Emblem Heroes. Leif is a versatile unit, having the capacity to mitigate damage depending on the situation and to change the weapon the unit he is engaged with is using. Leif Engage Attack “Tetra Trick” attacks the enemy with different types of weapons.
One of the knights from the Kingdom of Firene, Louis’s personality calls as much attention as the heavy armor he wears since he is calm and friendly. He faces enemies with a lance in one hand, and a shield in the other, holding the enemy’s assault with a serene look on his face.
Lyn – The Emblem of Blazing
The Emblem of Blazing is a hero from Fire Emblem: The Blazing Blade. Now, in Engage, she comes as a powerful summon with a kit that focuses on skills that prevent enemies from counterattacking. Lyn’s Engage Attack is “Astra Storm” which shoots five powerful arrows at the enemy.
Lucina – The Emblem of Awakening
Originally from Fire Emblem Awakening, Lucina is in her best form when fighting alongside allies, having her stats boosted when she is not alone. With her skills, Lucina can increase the chance of nullifying damage that her allies would take. Her Engage Attack “All For One” triggers a sequence of Chain Attacks with allies that are within 2 squares of her position.
Lumera is Alear’s mother and she is also the Divine Dragon who rules the holy land of Lythos. Since the war against the Fell Dragon ended, one thousand years before the time of Fire Emblem Engage, when she fought alongside humans to protect the world, Lumera has been taking care of Alear and protecting them until they awake.
Marth – The Emblem of Beginnings
The first lord character in the franchise, Marth was the protagonist of the first Fire Emblem game. Now he is one of the Emblems that players can invoke by equipping the designated ring. The unit that engages with Marth has access to special skills, such as Marth’s Engage Attack “Lodestar Rush”, a sequence of attacks with the character’s sword.
Part of the group called Four Hounds, Marny is one of the antagonists in the game. She is an armored knight that seems capable of taking care of herself in a battle. Marni seems more composed compared to Griss, although she is as dangerous as her companions.
As part of the group called Four Hounds, Mauvier is one of the antagonists in Fire Emblem Engage. He is trying to resurrect the Fell Dragon that was defeated one thousand years ago together with the other three members of the group. He is a knight of few words, polite and serious which makes him stand out when compared to his associates.
Introduced to the players fighting with a sword while riding a wolf, Merrin has a very distinct design. Her love for animals is shown in her design also since she is shown with a tail that reminds a wolf-one. She is a knight from the Kingdom of Solm and Timerra’s retainer. From the way she speaks to what she is dressing, Merrin is quite elegant.
Micaiah – The Emblem of Dawn
From Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn, Micaiah is a powerful healer also known as the Silver-Haired Maiden. She is an emblem that is great at working together with specific types of units, such as the staff-wielding ones. Her Engage Attack “Great Sacrifice” leaves the unit engaged with her with 1 Hp but heals all allies around her.
Panette is Timerra’s retainer in the Kingdom of Solm. Her gothic visual contrasts with the desert area where Solm is, but she is close to the princess and a powerful knight. She can deliver deadly blows with her heavy axe on the battlefield.
During a fight, Pandreo might be a key unit because of his healing skills. He comes from the Kingdom of Solm and has the mission to protect Fogado. Very few might imagine, but Pandreo is also Panette’s brother.
When enemies less expect, they might find their end from one of Rosado’s deadly attacks. Riding a wyvern, this unit is ready to kill an enemy soldier swinging a heavy axe. But they also have the personal mission of pursuing all the cute and pretty things in the world.
Roy – The Emblem of Binding
A seasoned general, the Emblem of Binding is a powerful ally to have when facing battles. Besides that he has the ability to increase units HP, making them more resistant to damage. Roy’s Engage Attack uses his blade to hit enemies and affect an area with fire. He appears originally in Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade.
Seadall is a supporting character that players can recruit in the Kingdom of Solm. He is a charming dancer who can heal other characters. Seadall also has the mysterious capacity to read the future, which inevitably puts him in quite amusing conversations with other characters.
Sigurd – The Emblem of the Holy War
The mighty Sigurd, a horse-mounted lancer, comes to Engage as one of the spirits of heroes players can summon. Sigurd has the ability to increase the mobility of a unit, allowing them to walk long distances on the battlefield. His Engage Attack “Override” is a strong frontal attack that also changes Sigurd’s location.
The cheerful Timerra is the first princess of the Kingdom of Solm. She has a lot of energy and is ready to cheer people up. Timerra is also extremely skilful when fighting with a lance and her prowess with the weapon makes having her on the team worth it.
Tiki is a special emblem character in the new Fire Emblem game that players can only have access to after buying the Expansion Pass. She is a well-known character for old fans of the series and Tiki seems to give a unit the ability to transform into a dragon to attack enemies.
Part of the Steward of the Dragon, Vander has sworn to protect the Divine Dragon Alear while they were sleeping. He is found together with the twins Framme and Clanne. Vander is a strong paladin who can take the frontline of your team and unleash powerful attacks too.
Veyle is a character surrounded by mysteries. In her first appearance, she saves Alear from an enemy. However, after brief conversations, she disappears. From this encounter, we only know that she can use magic, but players will have to find out if Veyle is an ally or a foe.
This energetic thief is one of the few characters that don’t seem related to a specific kingdom in Fire Emblem Engage. While on the battlefield, where Yunana faces dangerous foes and helps her team by opening locked doors, she can take care of herself, Yunaka is also a free spirit, finding herself in difficult situations waiting for help.
The grim thief Zelkov is one of the units players can recruit from the Kingdom of Elusia, where he works protecting Ivy. He is quiet and enjoys spending time with one of his hobbies. Maybe, because of his obsessive personality, he may have a lot of these!
A central figure among the Four Hounds, the group of antagonists of Fire Emblem Engage, Zephia is also from a lineage of dragons, but a different one than Alear. She is from the Demon Dragon Tribe and together with her companions she seeks to resurrect the Fell Dragon.
