Activision Blizzard is currently experiencing server and login issues across a range of games, including Overwatch, World of Warcraft, and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.
Players around the world are reporting slow connection times, lag, and difficulty logging in at all to Blizzard’s Battlenet servers in a variety of titles. The most prominently affected appears to be Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, which is no surprise given that Warzone, the free Call of Duty battle royale, launched earlier this week, peaking many people’s interest.
As of the time of writing, Blizzard has tweeted that is aware of the problems and working to find a solution. The issue, according to the first tweet, is in the authentication servers. “We’re currently investigating an issue affecting our authentication servers, which may result in failed or slow login attempts,” the tweet reads, a follow-up an hour later adding: “Still working on the login issues, no ETA at the moment. We do apologise for any inconvenience.”
It’s been speculated the problem is with the Battlenet launcher, and not the servers, but this remains to be seen, and Blizzard continue to look into it in any case.
