Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 fans, we’re on the final stretch now. The fast-approaching Modern Warfare 2 release date looms overhead, Call of Duty content creators have delivered their Modern Warfare 2 beta verdicts after what has become the biggest beta test period in the franchise’s history, and we’re already discussing the best Modern Warfare 2 guns and weapons. It’s safe to say that there’s a bit of a buzz around this title – and we can’t wait to get stuck into it. However, if you’re someone who yearns for the Call of Duty of old, you’ll be pleased to know that someone has stuck Modern Warfare 2 2009 audio over Modern Warfare 2 beta footage – and it slaps.

In a ten minute video that took four days to put together, Call of Duty content creator ‘Ghosts619’ has painstakingly trawled through fresh Modern Warfare 2 beta gameplay footage and layered over matching original audio from 2009’s Modern Warfare 2 to create the ultimate nostalgia trip.

From gunfire sounds and killstreak activation audio, to footsteps and death screams, Ghosts619 has quite-literally replaced every single sound in their Modern Warfare 2 beta gameplay footage with sounds from the 2009 release and it really is a sight to behold – and a sound to behold, too.

So, rather than starting to describe everything you can see and hear in the video, we thought it would be best to just link it below so you can listen to this incredible footage yourself. If you want to listen to the original Modern Warfare 2 audio from Ghosts619, you can find it right here:

As you may already know, Ghosts619 is also calling on Infinity Ward to consider releasing a Modern Warfare 2 2009 audio pack for Modern Warfare 2 – something that we can imagine would make the gameplay sound a lot like his video above.

While we’re not going to get our hopes up that a nostalgic audio pack is coming to Modern Warfare 2, we wouldn’t be surprised if PC modders found a way to create something similar. For now, though, we’ll just have to watch Ghosts619’s video – or dust off the Xbox 360 and play some Modern Warfare 2 ourselves.
