At this point, Hoyoverse is used to seeing its games become global sensations, and once again it is time for Honkai Star Rail developer to celebrate. Zenless Zone Zero recently launched across PlayStation and Xbox platforms, and just a few days after open its door to players, it has already reached a massive download milestone.
According to a recent social media post from Hoyoverse, Zenless Zone Zero has soared past 50 million total downloads. Comparatively, gacha game titan Honkai Star Rail was download 20 million times on launch day alone, so this isn’t too shabby at all for the new RPG game. In a message to players to celebrate the achievement, Hoyoverse says that “a city that once only existed in the hopes and dreams of the dev team has never been as buzzing with life as it is now. Your patience and support have made New Eridu what it is today.”
While the new PS5 game and new Xbox game is extremely popular out of the gate, with over 40 million pre-registrations recorded, the developer says that “to live up to everyone’s expectations and truly become a city of miracles, we are aware that there are still lots of improvements to be made.” Until further updates are implemented into the massive multiplayer game, Hoyoverse is offering a “gesture of thanks for everyone’s support” in the form of an in-game reward.
To be eligible for the reward, Hoyoverse explains that players will need to reach “Inter-Knot level 1 or above before the release of Version 1.1.” In return, you’ll be given 1,600 Polychrome, a form of in-game currency that can used to restore your Battery Charge, buy Master Tape or Encrypted Master Tape in the Signal Shop, or New Eridu City Fund levels. Polychrome can also be acquired by converting Monochrome Film, the open world game‘s paid form of currency.
Should you meet the requirements for the free reward, it will be sent to your in-game mailbox with 24 hours. Looking forward to the future, Hoyoverse adds that “in future updates, we will continue to optimize aspects such as game performance. While preparing for the official release, we have also been hard at work developing the cloud gaming version of Zenless Zone Zero.”
