World of Tanks has been around for almost 15 years now with iterations on PC, mobile, and consoles, but the D-Day 80th Anniversary Event that started on June 4th is the game's peak. It might climb even higher in future, but overall, it's never been better, with plenty of options for both PvP and PvE play, an active community of around 75,000 players a day, loads of tanks, and new content coming all the time.
So what specifically does the D-Day event bring with it? Well, while WoT has historically been a multiplayer experience, the new Operation Overlord (which was the original codename for the Battle of Normandy) allows you to play through the battle that decided the outcome of the Second World War. Ultimately, that's the real reason that now is the best time to get into (or back into) World of Tanks. Fans have been crying out for single-player campaigns and more content drawn from history and developer, Wargaming has delivered.
