30/03/2022 Further information from Valorleaks on how the trail debuff works has been added
As we hurtle towards Valorant Episode 4 Act 3, it’s only natural that rumours surrounding the game’s next potential agent would begin to circulate. However, as reported by ‘Valorleaks’, it looks like the cat might be out of the bag early, as the abilities for the new Valorant agent – codename ‘Bounty Hunter’ – have potentially leaked.
Developer Riot Games revealed via its latest State of the Agents blog a couple of days ago that the new agent would be an Initiator who appears to hail from Turkey. In the post there are also hints to how the new agent would play, with character producer John ‘Riot MEMEMEMEME’ Goscicki saying that the agent “revolves around the information gathering aspect of the tactical loop”, similarly to Sova.
Additionally, Riot MEMEMEMEME states “this next agent should give you a more… intimate feeling when hunting down enemies.” From what Valorleaks reveals, the developer certainly wasn’t joking.
Here are Bounty Hunter’s reported abilities.
- Prowler (C)
- Send out a creature that can follow trails OR be controlled by moving your mouse. Upon reaching an enemy, they will be Nearsighted for 3s. Only 1 Creature per Trail.
- Seize (Q)
- Equip and Fire an Orb which will stay in the air for a max of 1.5s, and then slam to the ground. When the orb hits the ground Enemies within the radius will be tethered, and will take damage and be deafened.
- Haunt (E)
- Equip and Fire an Orb which will stay in the air and then hit the ground. Then it will go back into the air and turn into an eye. If Enemies get seen by the eye they will be revealed and a trail debuff is applied.
- NightFall (X)
- Send out a wave of dark mist. If the mist hits an enemy, they will be Deafened, Trailed, and Decayed.
According to the leaker, the trail debuff “is going to work like a trail of footsteps/line. Once you get applied with the debuff, wherever you go, footsteps or a line trail will follow you and enemies will be able to see it.”
Valorleaks reckons Bounty Hunter is going to be “a solid agent”, and looking at this kit, we are certainly inclined to agree.
