We don’t know much about the current state of competitive Valorant at the moment, but G2 Esports’ owner, Carlos ‘ocelote’ Rodriquez Santiago, says he knows he’s going to have a Valorant World Championship winning team at some point in the future.
The esports organisation owner, who’s known for being boisterous, made the comments to Sky Sports (via Dot Esports) just hours after his League of Legends team lifted the LEC Spring Split trophy. And while Riot Games is patiently building Valorant’s esports scene around the community and third-party tournaments, big organisations, like G2 Esports, are getting ready to invest.
“The game is really well designed, it’s very smooth, it doesn’t have anything useless in there,” Ocelot tells Sky Sports. “It might seem overwhelming at first but it’s not, it’s actually very simple. The simplicity of it makes the game very deep. This game has got everything it needs, nothing more, nothing less. That makes you get really good at every angle, every map. It’s a perfect game.
“G2 will be Valorant World Champions at some point. At the same time, we’ll be doing a lot of content and tournaments around Valorant. Expect a lot from us, it’s going to be one of the main games for us.”
The organisation has already started making YouTube content for the game and will be hosting the European Brawl tournament next week. Now all it needs to do is find itself the next world champions.
