Cloud9 Valorant reportedly drops vanity just weeks before VCT begins

Following the departure of yay, it looks like Cloud9 Valorant's reshuffle is set to continue. This time, it looks like vanity could be on the way out.

Valorant Cloud9 drops vanity: vanity at VCT Lock In

The Cloud9 Valorant reshuffle doesn’t appear to have stopped with Jaccob ‘yay’ Whiteaker. Now, a new report has surfaced suggesting that Anthony ‘vanity’ Malaspina could also be on his way out of the storied organisation.

According to journalist Max Katz, vanity “will not be part of C9’s active roster moving forward.” Whether or not this means the team’s current in-game leader will be benched, or gone completely has yet to be confirmed, though the former would most likely require the departure – or moving into the starting lineup – of current sixth man Mateja ‘qpert’ Mijovic.

C9 came into the recently-concluded VCT Lock In event with a huge amount of hype around it. After securing a clean 2-0 over Paper Rex in the first round, it seemed like the ‘superteam’ could go all the way. However, it was swiftly brought back down to Earth, losing 2-1 to DRX in the round of 16.

Shortly following C9’s departure from São Paulo, it was announced that yay and the team were parting ways. Discussing the decision, head coach Matthew Elmore says that broader role issues were a major player in it.

With vanity now seemingly out of the picture too, it’s unclear who will fill the shoes of two of North America’s biggest names. Redditor ‘nklassitude’ shared a screenshot hinting that C9 have been trialling collegiate player Logan ‘Løgan’ Coffey, though nothing has been set in stone.
