It’s now been well over a week since one of Twitch’s biggest streamers, Guy ‘Dr DisRespect’ Beahm, was mysteriously banned from the platform. While the hurricane of speculation surrounding his surprise ban has now died down, we are still none the wiser as to what has actually happened to The Doc.
You can imagine then that another of Twitch’s big stars, Nick ‘NICKMERCS’ Kolcheff, would be rather taken aback if he received a donation from someone claiming to be The Two-Time. Well, you’d be damn right. During his June 5 livestream, NICKMERCS was dropping into a game of Call of Duty: Warzone when he noticed he had received a $50 donation from “Dr DisRespect.” Despite being surprised and very dubious that it would really be the real Doc, NICKMERCS points out that he has received donations from Dr DisRespect in the past and that this one is “exactly how he does it.”
He then proceeds to read out the donation to his chat. Although it is quite cryptic, it is written in trademark Dr DisRespect fashion.
“‘It’s not the audio,’” the donation message begins, in reference to the frustrating end of NICKMERCS’ last Warzone game. “‘Check the records and VODs. Barely laying on a lounge chair right now and I hear everything. The ponytail still drippin’, The Two-Time never slippin’.
Twitch needs a scapegoat? I ain’t even trippin’.’”
At the time, NICKMERCS is unsure as to whether it really is him, and a few minutes later he admits that he’s “never heard Doc rap like that in a donation, I’m pretty sure it’s not him.”
NICKMERCS and Dr DisRespect were often playing Warzone with each other before the latter’s ban, but to be honest, a NICKMERCS donation seems to be a very unlikely place for The Doc to reappear after being silent for so long.
Rumours of why Dr DisRespect was banned have varied massively, and it continues to be the greatest mystery ever to grace the streaming world.
