Twitch signs DrLupo, Lirik and TimTheTatman to exclusive contracts

These streamers aren't going anywhere.

Benjamin ‘DrLupo’, Saqib ‘Lirik’ Zahid, and Timothy ‘TimTheTatman’ Betar are some of the biggest streamers on Twitch and they’ve all committed to staying with the Amazon-owned platform for years to come.

The streamers, who have a combined following of 10.36 million, haven’t been tempted away by the likes of Mixer, YouTube Gaming, or Facebook Gaming, and have instead decided to extend their exclusive contracts with Twitch, which of course, laid the foundations for their successful streaming careers.

The deals, negotiated by talent agency Loaded, are in the “millions of dollars” per year, according esports journalist and consultant Rod Breslau, who broke the news ahead of the official announcement yesterday afternoon.

Both Lirik and TimTheTatman used some of their highlights from over the years to make the announcement, but DrLupo spoke from his heart in a candid piece to camera.

“Over the last several years, something happened that I never would have dreamed of,” DrLupo says. “A community formed around my channel, one that has followed me from game to game and supported the causes I’m passionate about.

“The support you have all shown for charity via the events I have been a part of, is simply put, staggering. You’ve given so much to help people in need, so from myself to everyone you’ve lifted up, thank you.

“Twitch has the highest number of viewed hours of any live streaming platform by far, which means when it comes to charity, I feel like I can be the most effective here.”

Although Twitch lost Tyler ‘Ninja’ Belvins, Michael ‘Shroud’ Grzesiek, Jack ‘CouRage’ Dunlop, and Jeremy ‘Disguised Toast’ Wang in recent months, this new deal shows that the streamer contract war is far from over.
