Disguised Toast leaves Twitch to stream exclusively on Facebook Gaming

Disguised Toast

Popular Hearthstone and Teamfight Tactics streamer Jeremy ‘Disguised Toast’ Wang has become the latest big name to leave Twitch for a rival streaming platform.

In recent weeks, Twitch has lost the likes of Jack ‘CouRage’ Dunlop to YouTube Gaming and Soleil ‘EwOk’ Wheeler to Mixer. However, Disguised Toast is moving to Facebook’s streaming platform, with his first stream coming today, November 22. He had tweeted a few days ago: “I want YOU to listen. It’s time to FACE the facts. It’s time to MIX things up,” potentially teasing a move to any of Twitch’s main rivals.

Disguised Toast had amassed over 1.3 million followers on his Twitch channel prior to his announcement and is also part of Offline TV, a collective of Twitch streamers that includes the likes of Imane ‘Pokimane’ Anys. Disguised Toast had only a matter of days ago also gifted viewers of his stream 1,000 Twitch subs for losing a bet, forking out $5,000 of his own money. Those gifted subs now have a slightly shorter than intended lifespan.

In his announcement video, he not only stated that he was moving platform but also that he donated the entire $20,000 production budget for the video given to him by Facebook to the Los Angeles Children’s Hospital.

This is yet another blow to Twitch who have been losing a number of big name streamers since their biggest, Tyler ‘Ninja’ Blevins, announced that he was moving to Mixer earlier in the year.

Despite many not really associating Facebook with video game streaming, a report last month showed that Facebook Gaming actually has a slightly higher portion of streaming viewership than Mixer. The acquisition of Disguised Toast could potentially see them pull further away, however since that report both EwOk and Michael ‘Shroud’ Grzesiek have began streaming exclusively on Mixer.

Disguised Toast’s first stream is thought to begin at 12:00 PST (20:00 BST) today.
