The third partnered tournament of the Valorant Ignition Series has been announced by Riot, and it sees one of the earliest entrants into the Valorant esports scene playing host.
Running June 26-28, the T1 X Nerd Street Gamers Valorant Showdown will be the first event for North American players to compete in and will offer up a prize pool of $50,000. As the name suggests, esports organisation T1 is the next big name to have partnered with Riot for the Ignition Series and will be one of 16 teams competing. This event will not only see pro players and teams invited, but will also offer four spots to amateur teams, who can qualify via open qualifiers on June 20 and 21. Nerd Street Gamers will help produce the event alongside T1.
This will be the third competition to be featured in the Ignition Series following this weekend’s G2 Esports Valorant Invitational for European players and the RAGE Valorant tournament in Japan.
T1 was one of the first major esports organisations to sign a professional Valorant player and complete a full competitive roster. It’s five-man squad of former Counter-Strike: Global Offensive players consists of Victor ‘Food’ Wong, Austin ‘Crashies’ Roberts, Keven ‘AZK’ Larivière, Braxton ‘Brax’ Pierce, and Tyler ‘Skadoodle’ Latham.
The first North American event in the @PlayVALORANT Ignition Series kicks off June 26-28.

There’s currently no word on which other teams will be competing at the Valorant Showdown, but Riot’s head of NA esports partnerships Matt Archambault promises that it will “kick off North American VALORANT esports in a big way” and be an “incredible opening” to the Ignition Series in the region.
