Cancelled Chinese Overwatch League homestands will be played in South Korea

The five Chinese homestand events for the Overwatch League will be moved to South Korea, Blizzard has confirmed. The matches, which were set to take place in Shanghai, Huangzhou, and Hangzhou next month, were postponed following the outbreak of coronavirus in the country.

The home events will now take place in Seoul, South Korea, where most of the Chinese teams are now training and playing from.  The majority of the matches will be played on March 14-15 and March 21-22, although some might be added to the Seoul Dynasty homestand the week before.

“The matches will be played over multiple days in Weeks 6 and 7 at a studio in Seoul,” the Blizzard statement reads. “A few of the makeup matches might be added to the Seoul Dynasty homestand in Week 5. The makeup matches will not affect the other scheduled homestands in Washington (Week 5), Florida (Week 6), and Atlanta (Week 7).”

Blizzard has not yet revealed the dates or times for the fixtures, but we do know that they’ll be streamed on YouTube thanks to Blizzard’s new exclusivity deal.
