After a rocky start to the 2021 LEC season, Team Vitality has made a slew of changes to its League of Legends roster heading into the Summer Split. This includes the signings of Berlin International Gaming toplaner Enzo ‘SLT’ Gonzalez, former Fnatic jungler Oskar ‘Selfmade’ Boderek, and mousesports’ Adam ‘LIDER’ Ilyasov.
Vitality struggled to find form for the majority of the Spring Split, quickly sinking to the bottom of the table where it would remain for the entirety of the split. The signing of Juš ‘Crownshot’ Marušič part way through did much to improve the overall performance of the team, though the results still weren’t there.
With this round of changes, Crownshot will be reunited with former SK Gaming and MAD Lions teammate Selfmade, who has just come off a disappointing split with Fnatic. SLT meanwhile has enjoyed a dominant spell with BIG, having taken the first place spot in the PRM 2021 Spring Playoffs.
LIDER meanwhile went one step further with mousesports than BIG at Spring’s EU Masters event, knocking out its regional rivals in the quarterfinals, before succumbing to BTXL in the semis. Having already spent a split in the LEC with Misfits Gaming back in 2019, LIDER is no stranger to the league. Known for his aggressive playstyle, the midlaner will be hoping to produce a better showing this time around.

As for outgoings, Mathias ‘Syzgenda’ Jensen and Duncan ‘Skeanz’ Marquet have been moved to the academy team, Vitality.Bee, for now. The fate of midlaner Aljoša ‘Milica’ Kovandžić is currently unknown.
This fresh iteration of Vitality also has a new coaching line up. With the departure of head coach Hadrien ‘Duke’ Forestier, Mateusz ‘Tasz’ Borkowski and Miłosz ‘R4VEN’ Domagalski have been promoted from the academy team as head coach and positional coach respectively. Meanwhile, strategic coach Andrei ‘Realistik’ Ruse joins from mousesports.
With changes at every level in the Vitality LoL team, expectations will be high as the team returns to the Rift next month.
