Superstar AD carry Yiliang ‘Doublelift’ Peng is reportedly set to rejoin Team Solo Mid. The League of Legends player was put up for sale by Team Liquid following an average Spring Split in the LCS, in which the team recorded a ninth place finish.
According to a report by ESPN’s Jacob Wolf, multiple organisations have registered their interest for the player, but Doublelift chose TSM over other options and was involved in the process. If the transfer is completed, the player will be reunited with Soren ‘Bjergsen’ Bjerg and Vincent ‘Biofrost’ Wang.
Doublelift will replace Kasper ‘Kobbe’ Kobberup, who joined TSM in November following Splyce’s deep run in Worlds last year. We’re not sure where the Dane is going to end up just yet, but his options are pretty limited in the region due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
Doublelift though will be looking to put this split behind him. The professional player contracted laryngitis midway through the season and lost his place on starting team to Edward ‘Tactical’ Ra. Doublelift blamed the benching on his “lack of motivation” and, despite improving, he and his team recorded the worst finish in the organisation’s history.
Team Liquid and TSM declined to comment.
