London Royal Ravens has made its third roster change of the 2021 Call of Duty League season after bringing in 19-year-old American Paul ‘PaulEhx’ Avila. The addition of PaulEhx sees veteran Christopher ‘Parasite’ Duarte leave the side after joining on a short-term contract.
Royal Ravens has suffered a lot of difficulties with its roster this season, and constant movements resulted in the team failing to win a series in Stage 1 of the 2021 CDL season. It was first forced to bring in Parasite as a replacement for Trei ‘Zero’ Morris, who is still struggling with visa issues and is still unable to travel to the US from the UK. A day before the Stage 1 major, it then had to sign Zach ‘Zed’ Denyer after Alex ‘Alexx’ Carpenter flew back to the UK for personal reasons.
The latest signing of PaulEhx however does seem purely performance-based, with the team deciding not to stick with Parasite for Stage 2. The outgoing Parasite says he has “nothing but respect” for the organisation and that Royal Ravens “treated him like family.”
PaulEhx has shone this season in the Challengers division of the CDL playing for WestR, and looks to be an exciting pickup for Royal Ravens. WestR won the first four NA Cups of the season and finished second to New York Subliners’ academy side in the Stage 1 Challengers Playoffs.
