Florida Mutineers has brought in former Seattle Surge Josiah ‘Slacked’ Berry as its fourth and final player on its 2021 Call of Duty League starting lineup.
Mutineers will head into the new season, which sees a return to a 4v4 format, with three members of last year’s impressive squad that won three Home Series events in the CDL’s inaugural season. Colt ‘Havok’ McLendon, Cesar ‘Skyz’ Bueno, and Joseph ‘Owakening’ Conley have all had contracts extended for 2021. Mutineers was initially set to head into next season with no new signings, however the sad and sudden death of promising young player Maurice ‘Fero’ Henriquez last month has forced the team to recruit a fourth player.
While Slacked is an experienced head in the Call of Duty scene, he was part of a Seattle Surge squad that finished joint-last in the 2020 regular season and failed to win a map at CDL Champs as it was swept 3-0 in the first round of the losers bracket.
Slacked will be hoping he can find some success with Mutineers after an abysmal season in Seattle.
The Florida franchise also confirms in its roster announcement that Ricky ‘Atura’ Lugo will remain as head coach.
