Cloud9 announces $500-a-year Stratus subscription service for “superfans”

Cloud9's Stratus subscription offers physical goodies and digital rewards

Cloud9 has announced a new subscription service for “superfans” that comes with a fairly hefty price tag. The $500-a-year Stratus service gets you a range of digital and physical rewards, including two mystery crates. These are randomised assortments of items, such as branded clothing, which include at least one Stratus exclusive or “high value” item.

You’ll also receive a welcome crate to start you off. A branded mouse pad, custom keycaps, keychain, t-shirt, jersey, and special Stratus ID card all feature.

On the digital side, you’ll be invited to join a private Stratus Discord server, receive a custom Twitter banner and follow-back from both C9 and Jack Etienne, net yourself a FACEIT premium membership, and gain access to Stratus community tournaments plus roundtable chats and Q&As with C9 personnel. There’s clearly a lot to like here for superfans, though the service’s price might be a bit hard for some to swallow.

You can opt to pay a lump sum of $500 or split it into four instalments of $125 via Quadplay. Ultimately, the quality of the rewards will make or break the service.

Stratus launches January 1 and will run throughout the entire year. You should get your welcome box by early January, then the two mystery crates will follow. More info can be found over on the official Stratus site.
