June 29 Dr DisRespect has confirmed he’s been banned from Twitch, but says the platform has not told him the “specific reason” for the ban.
The two-time himself, Guy ‘Dr DisRespect‘ Beahm has been banned from Twitch. The streamer’s profile disappeared from the Amazon-owned platform earlier today, and while Twitch has confirmed the ban, no one quite knows why or how long for.
“As is our process, we take appropriate action when we have evidence that a streamer has acted in violation of our Community Guidelines or Terms of Service”, Twitch tells The Loadout in a prepared statement. “These apply to all streamers regardless of status or prominence in the community.”
Shortly after news of his ban broke, fans began speculating the cause for his ban was due to a DMCA takedown. However, independent esports journalist Rod ‘Slasher’ Breslau says he’s received information that suggests a DMCA takedown isn’t responsible and that the Doc has actually been permanently banned from the platform.
Dr DisRespect has finally spoken out on the matter, but it’t not exactly eye opening. According to streamer, he doesn’t actually know why he’s been banned. “Champions Club, Twitch has not notified me of the specific reason behind their decision,” he says on Twitter. “Firm handshakes to all for their support during this difficult time.”

Given that Dr DisRespect signed an exclusive two-year contract with the platform in March, this is potentially a huge statement from Twitch that will no doubt set an example to other partnered streamers.
