The legendary hip hop artist Snoop Dogg has joined FaZe Clan, becoming the latest celebrity to join the organisation. In traditional FaZe fashion, he will now be known in gaming circles as ‘FaZe Snoop,’ and he will be joining the iconic organisation as both talent and a member of the board of directors.

The addition of Snoop Dogg to the org comes in the build up to FaZe Clan becoming a publicly traded company later this spring. A press release also mentions that Snoop Dogg’s son, Cordell Broadus, was instrumental in forming the partnership between the West Coast rapper and FaZe Clan. “The youth identifies with their brand and that’s something my son Cordell knew, which is why he brought us together,” Snoop Dogg says.

There have been rumours about a possible connection between Snoop Dogg and FaZe since fans noticed that he appeared during the Superbowl’s halftime show wearing a FaZe chain. FaZe Snoop took to Twitter with a tweet that simply reads, “Joined FaZe Clan.” The Tweet is accompanied by a short video welcoming him to the team. Likewise, the official FaZe Clan Twitter account said, “Officially official. Welcome to the family, Snoop Dogg.”

It’s yet to be seen how his new role as talent will manifest in FaZe, but Snoop Dogg isn’t new to the videogame streamer and influencer life, and he has been streaming on Twitch for some time now. His streams haven’t come without mishaps, however, and last year Twitch muted him for playing live music.

He becomes the latest celebrity to either invest or join FaZe Clan as a member, joining the likes of fellow rapper Lil Yachty and a swathe of North American athletes including Bronny James, son of legendary basketball star LeBron James.
