Roller-skating shooter Rollerdrome releases next month, and PlayStation gamers had long speculated that it would be sliding its way onto PS Plus as a free title on day one. However, publisher Private Division has today confirmed that it won’t be a free PS Plus game – but being a subscriber can get you the game for a cheaper, introductory price.
In a press release, Private Division confirms that PS Plus subscribers (and PC players on Steam, too) in the UK will be able to pick up Rollerdrome for £16.49. Gematsu reports that the USD price will be $19.79. This is only an introductory offer though, and will disappear on August 29, which is around two weeks after Rollerdrome launches. After August 29, the game will be $29.99 (£24.99).
But the PS Plus association doesn’t stop there. Rollerdrome, just like another of developer Roll7’s games, Olli Olli World, will be getting a free PS Plus Premium game trial for subscribers on the top tier.
If you’re on the fence about nabbing Rollerdrome, you’ll at least be able to try before you buy.
Alongside today’s PS Plus announcement, a new dev diary was also posted, which dives into aspects such as level design, gameplay flow, and some of the mechanics you’ll have at your disposal to create epic moments.
So while Rollerdrome won’t be getting added to our PS Plus free games list, it will at least be dropping in with a discounted price tag and free trial too.
