Dr DisRespect’s Rogue Company skin could potentially get Twitch users banned

Twitch's Community Guidelines contain a rule that could be concerning for some streamers

It’s been in the works for some time, but Guy ‘Dr DisRespect’ Beahm’s Rogue Company map and skin are finally here. The Two-Time has a perfect replica of himself as a character within the third-person shooter, and his Champions Club has been realised in intricate detail as the new map.

But some streamers on Twitch have voiced concerns over using The Doc’s new character in the game due to his permanent ban from the platform, and there is potential that using the skin during a stream could violate the Terms of Service and Community Guidelines. As spotted by Dexerto, one of the platform’s biggest streamers, Michael ‘Shroud’ Grzesiek, has already expressed his apprehension. He admits that it’s a “tricky” situation, but believes action could be taken against streamers because of the skin’s exact likeness to Dr DisRespect.

Twitch’s Community Guidelines state that “it is prohibited to use your channel to knowingly feature or advertise a suspended user.” There is some leniency to this rule following 100 Thieves owner Matthew ‘Nadeshot’ Haag conversing with Dr DisRespect on his stream in a Warzone pre-game lobby. However, Twitch also states that users should “make a good faith effort to remove them from your broadcast, mute them, or otherwise limit their interactions with your stream.”

If Twitch deems Rogue Company’s Dr DisRespect character to be a representation of him, then it could choose to impose bans on those using it while streaming on the platform.

At the time of writing, it has been approximately 24 hours since the Dr DisRespect skin dropped, and so far there have been no reports of Twitch suspensions for anyone playing Rogue Company yesterday.

The Loadout has contacted Twitch for comment and clarification over the use of the Dr DisRespect skin on its platform.
