If you’re a fan of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, you’re going to want to make sure you’re keeping a free schedule on March 21. Why, you might be asking? Well, PUBG Battlegrounds and Krafton are partnering with Twitch to deliver some explosive action through Twitch Rivals’ PUBG 6th Anniversary Showdown – and, there are some exclusive cosmetics to get your hands on via PUBG Twitch drops.

From around 09:00 PST / 12:00 EST / 17:00 GMT on March 21, 48 Twitch Streamers from across EMEA will be going toe-to-toe with one another across six PUBG Battlegrounds maps for a $USD 60,000 prize pool. We know there are bears in PUBG now, but we’d like to think they’ll stay out of the action for this one.

For the most part, the 48 participants will be divvied up into teams of four to compete in a standard battle royale mode. However, there will also be one match played in the 24 v 24 platoon mode. So, if you’re just here looking for firefights and gunplay from your favourite PUBG streamers, you’re in luck. Oh, and, as we mentioned above, there are some sweet cosmetics up for grabs if you tune in.

Whether you’re watching on the Twitch Rivals channel, or following along with one of the 12 captains hoping to lead their squads to $USD 60,000 (and some serious bragging rights), you’ll be able to get your hands on the following rewards via Twitch Drops:

  • 6th Anniversary Survivor Spray
  • Summer Safety Helmet (Level 1)
  • Shutter Shades (Silver)
  • Twitch Rivals Spray
  • Beachwear Backpack (Level 2)
  • Twitch Rivals Bomber Jacket

All you really need to do is double check your Krafton ID account is linked to your Twitch account – then, you’re good to go. With names like ‘WackyJacky101’, ‘DanucD’, ‘Mithrain’, and ‘Chowh1’, you’re in for a treat. At the very least, we shouldn’t see any PUBG hacking interrupting anything.

Of course, having a Amazon Prime or Twitch Prime subscription is going to help you take full advantage of this situation – and there are a lot of in-game bundles up for grabs via the service. If you’ve been on the fence for a while, we have a cheeky little offer for you below:

PUBG Battlegrounds is one of the best battle royale games out there, despite it’s age, and this promises to be an event worth following. You can find out more about this and upcoming Twitch Rivals events on the Twitch Rivals website right here. We know PUBG Studios is developing an Escape From Tarkov rival, but this BR hasn’t lost it’s charm quite yet.
