What are the best Star Wars PS5 games? With the PlayStation 5, gamers everywhere finally have gained access to a home console powerful enough to bring all their gaming fantasies to life. With almost seamless transitions between loading screens and an emphasis on greater graphical optimisation, it was inevitable that our gaming imaginations would turn to grand adventures over lush, detailed worlds, filled with stunning battles and cinematic stories. It should come as no surprise, then, that some of the best experiences on the PS5 so far are Star Wars games.
The best Star Wars games on PS5 show just how flexible the core of Star Wars is as a franchise. If two of the best PS5 games on this list seemingly offer the same general thrill – say, slashing things with a lightsaber, for example – they differ so dramatically in art style and tone that it would be hard to compare the two. Therein lies the appeal of the series – a complete universe of ideas with very few limitations.
Much as the Force is what gives a Jedi his power, likewise, the PS5 is what gives these Star Wars titles the raw rendering muscle required to play them at their highest quality. With its deep back catalogue of PlayStation 4 releases as well, the PS5 offers a great wealth of choice for Star Wars fans of all kinds – but for now, we’ll focus on the very best games on offer.
The best Star Wars games on PS5 are:
- Star Wars Jedi: Survivor
- Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order
- Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga
- Star Wars Squadrons
- Star Wars Battlefront II
- Star Wars Pinball
1. Star Wars Jedi Survivor
The sequel to Fallen Order which is just below, Star Wars Jedi Survivor is bigger, more refined, and more vast than Fallen Order in almost every way. With a ton of explorable planets, intense boss battles, and challenging gameplay, the game ups the ante in terms of set-pieces.
The story is also far more enticing this time around as we delve into the Jedi in more detail and discover secrets about a relatively untouched time in the history of the order. We highlight his and a number of other incredible features of the game in our Star Wars Jedi Survivor PS5 review.
2. Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order
Doubtlessly the best Star Wars gaming experience in years, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order tells an original story set in the time between Episode III and Episode IV. Following Jedi Padawan Cal Kestis, a survivor of the Great Jedi Purge at the end of the third movie, this cinematic game takes us on a galaxy-spanning adventure as Cal trains to become a fully-fledged Jedi, while evading capture by the Galactic Empire’s lethal Inquisitors.
Jedi: Fallen Order blends Uncharted-style action set-pieces with Dark Souls-like combat and exploration – often to great effect. Created by the minds at Respawn Entertainment – the developer behind Titanfall and Apex Legends – there’s a tremendous level of polish and invention on show that makes it a must-have for anyone looking to push their PS5’s graphics card.
3. Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga
Don’t let the child-friendly exterior fool you – Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is no disposable kids’ toy. Covering all nine mainline Star Wars films across 45 main missions, featuring over 380 characters to unlock, and absolutely jam-packed with hidden collectables, The Skywalker Saga is an absolute beast of a video game.
This latest entry in the long-running series sports an upgradeable combat system, adding a new twist to the tried-and-true Lego gameplay. Plus, with several planets of explorable open-world sections just waiting to be traversed, The Skywalker Saga offers an absurd amount of Star Wars fan service in a pristine package.

4. Star Wars: Squadrons
Is there any person among us capable of watching Luke Skywalker pilot his X-Wing over the Death Star, delivering the critical blow that wins the day for the rebellion (spoilers), and then not once think how cool it would be to pilot an X-Wing themselves? If they exist, well, in fairness, they were probably put off by the number of Luke’s friends who meet horrific fiery ends piloting these deathtraps, but for those of us with less sense, Star Wars: Squadrons has us covered.
With a full campaign letting you play as either the rebels or the empire, plus a robust online mode letting you pilot with your friends in multiplayer and cross-play, Star Wars: Squadrons offers a distinctive dogfighting experience that fans of spontaneously bursting in flames will struggle to pass up.
5. Star Wars Battlefront II
Star Wars Battlefront II launched in 2017 to a host of problems – the biggest of which being its inclusion of loot boxes that locked away a treasure trove of desirable Star Wars characters from the online multiplayer experience. In 2022, however, the loot boxes have been patched out of the game entirely, and what’s left is a remarkably enjoyable and genuine Star Wars experience.
Battles take place over all three major eras of the Star Wars films, letting you blast away friends and foes in sprawling and beautifully-rendered locales from the movies. Plus, the campaign mode, which follows imperial commander Iden Versio, is considered canon and features a post-Return of the Jedi Luke Skywalker cameo compelling enough to lure in any long-time fans.
6. Star Wars Pinball
Now, you might be reading the words Star Wars Pinball in a list of the best Star Wars games available on the PS5, and you might be wondering about the damage this entry might do to the credibility of the other entries on said list. This is a fair point to raise, but also completely misguided because Star Wars Pinball absolutely owns.
Developed by Zen Studios, the team behind the excellent Zen Pinball series, Star Wars Pinball offers 19 lovingly-crafted tables filled with references to every facet of the series – including tables themed on Star Wars Rebels and even the comics! The tables display an array of creativity that may go overlooked if your particular bias of choice is that you’re just not that into pinball – for everyone else, however, Star Wars Pinball is an absolute must.
While this list has detailed the best Star Wars games on PS5, there are still a bunch more Star Wars games in Sony’s library that are definitely worth your time if you’re a diehard fan of the series. Older classics like the Jedi Knight series and Republic Commando are available on the system and are still held in high regard, so don’t be afraid to delve deeper into the catalogue if these are not the gems you’re looking for.
