October 23, 2019 It has now been confirmed that Profit and Gesture have both left London Spitfire to join Seoul Dynasty.
Overwatch League franchise London Spitfire has seen two more members of its all-Korean roster depart the team.
After announcing the triple departure of Kim ‘NUS’ Jong-seok, Lee ‘Guard’ Hee-dong and Kim ‘Birdring’ Ji-hyuk earlier this month, the Spitfire revealed that today, October 22, two more players would be leaving: Tank Hong ‘Gesture’ Jae-hee and DPS player Park ‘Profit’ Joon-yeong.
Gesture and Profit were both part of the Spitfire roster that won the inaugural Overwatch League in 2018, however this year the team couldn’t replicate their previous achievements and went out in the first round of the OWL Playoffs to the eventual champions San Francisco Shock. In the Twitter post confirming their departure, Profit and Gesture were described as “legendary” and “integral members of the London Spitfire.” With five players now having left, only four members of last season’s roster now remain, meaning a complete rebuild is in the works for the offseason.
The legendary @Gesture and @ProfitOW duo have been integral members of the London Spitfire, but today we say our farewells. We’ve won a championship together – a feat that will never be forgotten.
Thank you and we wish you the best of luck with what your future holds for you. pic.twitter.com/RRhpYuyvNU

The Korean duo will be sticking together for next year’s Overwatch League though as it was announced soon after their departure that they were both joining Seoul Dynasty.

For the Spitfire, they have some major recruitment to do with only four players currently on their books.
They’ve already brought in a new coaching set up and promoted one of last year’s assistant coaches, Hong ‘Agape’ Cheol-yong, to head coach. It will be interesting to see who they bring in and whether they are planning on letting any more players go in the offseason.
