Overwatch’s latest patch could have a huge effect on the Season 2 Finals

Overwatch Doomfist

Patch 1.41 has now been rolled out to Overwatch players on all platforms. It sees a number of tweaks to several heroes which could massively impact competitive play with the Season 2 Overwatch League Finals just around the corner.

Heroes receiving buffs are Winston, D.Va, Roadhog, Tracer, and Mercy. Meanwhile, Orisa, Sigma, Baptiste, Moria, Symmetra, and Doomfist are all nerfed. One of the most notable changes is with Winston, who receives a significant buff to Barrier Projector, with its duration increasing from six seconds to nine, as well as a +100 health boost. D.Va’s Defence Matrix also receives a buff, with the regen rate being increased to 16% per second and the regen delay being cut to 0.75 seconds.

Sigma sees a significant nerf in this patch, with a cooldown time being introduced for his barrier of one second, as well as a reduction in regen rate.

With Overwatch about to drop on the Nintendo Switch, this will likely be the version of the game that will be released to those players.

It is unclear whether this patch will be in place for the Overwatch League Season 2 Grand Finals on September 29, when the Vancouver Titans and San Francisco Shock face off for the Season 2 crown. If so, it will be a real shake up with so many key heroes receiving buffs and nerfs.
