Marvel Rivals could be a real surprise when it launches on PS5 and Xbox, but ahead of the upcoming closed beta test, we’re eager to see what heroes and villains will be playable. While we’ve seen legendary characters like Iron Man and Spider-Man within the roster, new Marvel Rivals leaks uncover the arrival of Shield operative Black Widow.
According to prominent Marvel’s Avengers and Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League leaker Miller Ross, the new PS5 game and new Xbox game will feature Natasha Romanoff within Marvel Rivals‘ already stacked roster at some point down the road. It is unclear whether Black Widow will be available in the Marvel Rivals beta, or even when the multiplayer game launches.
However, it looks like her design is already locked-in and ready to go, going off of the alleged design Ross has posted here on social media. Ross adds that “this is the default Black Widow design coming to Marvel Rivals, courtesy of in-game graffiti from the Tokyo 2099 map.” We recently got a better glimpse of the Tokyo 2099 map in the brand-new Spider-Man reveal trailer, although the Black Widow graffiti tag can’t be spotted at any point in the free shooting game‘s fresh footage.
It may seem like an obvious choice to bring Black Widow into the fray, considering she’s often teamed up with fellow Marvel heroes in the Avengers, Secret Avengers, Thunderbolts, and Heroes for Hire in the past. She even had her own special team with Hawkeye in the Marvel Cinematic Universe known as Special Tactical Reserve for International Key Emergencies – or S.T.I.K.E, to keep it simple.
Could we other characters affiliated with Black Widow join Marvel Rivals, too? We wouldn’t say no to some villains from Norman Osborne’s variation of the Thunderbolts popping up in the forthcoming Marvel game. Give us Bullseye, Norman Osborne himself with an amazing Green Goblin design please. Of course, Bullseye would be incomplete without Daredevil to fight, but now we’re getting greedy.
For now, you can get prepared for the Marvel Rivals console beta, which is set to begin on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
In other gaming news, Modern Warfare 3 could be gearing up for a Deadpool and Wolverine crossover, and clans may be on the cards for Helldivers 2.
