Like A Dragon Infintie Wealth’s story picks up from the end of Yakuza: Like A Dragon and will feature both Kiryu and Ichiban as dual protagonists. The story focuses on the past of the series and also the future with Kiryu representing the past and Ichiban representing the future.
Kiryu’s new silver fox haircut does mean something to the game’s story and narrative, but RGG Studio was cagey about details at the game’s reveal. However, a number of characters’ voices can be heard in the reveal trailer for the game and it seems like characters from both eras will return.
The gameplay teaser from the Xbox Games Showcase in June 2023, showed us that the game will also send Ichiban to America, as he is washed up on the shore of a beach in the United States. This means we will see multiple locations in the game.

Like A Dragon Infinite Wealth’s gameplay will be similar to what we saw in Yakuza: Like A Dragon. It will once again be a JRPG, not an action title.
But, Kiryu will have his own party when you are playing the game as him which is a major shakeup for the series which has always focused on a core set of characters. This leads us to believe that Kiryu and Ichiban will be on very different paths in the sequel, reiterated by the June 2023 trailer.
